Welcome to the Haslemere Festival

This is our seventh Arts Festival in Haslemere and we have developed a pattern of events to appeal to all tastes and all the family.

Our evening concerts feature amazing local talent as well as international superstars (this time particularly Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien); our weekend family events include Classic Car Show, Dog Show, Cycling Sportive, Triathlon and Julia Donaldson with her Gruffalo; our weekday talks celebrate local history and national anniversaries.

Speakers include Boris Pasternak’s great niece talking about the Lara of Dr Zhivago, the curator of horology at Greenwich talking about Harrison’s Chronometers, the head of the field Survey for the Great Arab Revolt Project talks about the Lawrence of Arabia, we have talks on the battles of Waterloo and Jutland and we have talks by two bishops.

All these events are described in more detail on these pages as well as instructions on how to get tickets.

Hamish Donaldson, Chairman
