Tony Jacobs and his wonderful Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra make a welcome return to the Haslemere Festival with a programme of the greatest hot and sweet music from the 1920s and 1930s. Celebrating songwriters such as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and George Gershwin, The Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, comprising some of the UK’s finest musicians, authentically re-creates the sounds of the British and American bands and performers of the era including Henry Hall, Bing Crosby, Ruth Etting, Connee Boswell, Fred Astaire and many more.
Special guest singer is the lovely Catherine Sykes, currently touring with the Glenn Miller UK Orchestra. Come and enjoy some great music – seamlessly linked by Tony’s fascinating stories of the era – and some hilarious anecdotes!
